Proven, Secure, Multi-Application
Open Standard, Reliable Platform
Our data concentrator platform powers more grid sensors and smart meters than any other data concentrator in the world. DCN 3000 is a dependable PLC data concentrator and advanced control node in one. Combines proven OSGP grid device management with advanced low voltage grid insight, Linux-based distributed intelligence capabilities and improved modularity. Application head-room and USB based expandability rounds out the future-proof distributed application platform.
DCN 3000 Distributed Control Node Features DCN 3000 Distributed Control Node Features
Low Voltage Grid Mapping - Map meter, segment, feeder and transformer associations and report it to the system.  Fast Commissioning - Commission supported meters in single message exchange.  App Distribution Platform - Support for remotely and securely adding distributed applications and device/ sensor support drivers in the field.  Outage Detection - Backup power and quick burst message to provide Last Gasp notification to system software regarding a transformer outage on 1 or more phases.  Flexible and Secure Connections - WAN communication using any wired or wireless IP-capable network, supports data authentication and encryption on all data channels. Enhanced connectivity and modularity via USB.
Future Ready Future Ready
  • Linux OS supports remotely and securely adding distributed applications and device/sensor support drivers in the field.
  • Remote firmware upgrades and field replaceable modems.
Proven Reliability
Proven Reliability
  • Enjoy daily communication reads delivered with 99.7- 100% reliability using OSGP power line technology; this technology enables four times the bandwidth of second-generation RF and is used by more smart meters than any other data concentrator in the world.
  • Communicates with the NES System Software using any wired or wireless IP-capable network and supports data authentication and encryption on all data channels. Includes enhanced connectivity and modularity via USB.
  • Resistant to vandalism and extreme weather. Translucent cover and status LEDs provide diagnostics for easier installation.
Map the Low Voltage Grid
Map the Low Voltage Grid
  • Next level of grid visibility - Automatically discovers meter, segment, feeder and transformer associations using Low Voltage Grid Mapping (LVGM) feature and reports them up to the head-end system. Able to identify connection of actual phase for devices in its portion of the LV grid.
  • Supports fast commissioning of supported OSGP devices in a single message exchange. Collects and reports meter and other sensor data, including consumption and power-quality measurements.
Monitor Health and Prevent Problems
Monitor Health and Prevent Problems
  • Monitors and reports a variety of alarm conditions, including outages, possible fault conditions and tampering.
  • Local Data Access allows for head-end managed grid data access to distributed grid applications.
