San Jose, CA, August 31st, 2016: Networked Energy Services Corporation (NES), a global smart grid market leader with the industry’s leading Energy Applications Platform (EAP ™), announced today the appointment of Tony Garcia as its Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its European Operations. Tony will be responsible for leading and further developing NES market operations in Europe, including responsibility for strategy, sales, services, and overall customer satisfaction, with a focus on growth and financial performance of NES’ European business.

Tony Garcia joins NES with over 25 years of experience in various senior leadership roles, which began with the active military service in the British Army Royal Signals (communications branch). Since leaving the service, Tony has led growth and operations modernization in the utility and communications industry, with roles at service providers like British Gas, SITA, Sky and large vendors including, Telecordia (Ericsson), Amdocs, and HP.  Most recently, Tony led International growth for Synchronoss, a leading provider of white-label cloud and activation SaaS solutions to Apple, Microsoft and Tier 1 mobile and fixed telecom carriers.

Europe, a ripe market for smart grid solutions, has always been a focal point for NES, where it continues to grow its market share. For example, NES has deployed millions of smart meters with utilities across the region and, just last year, NES moved its production facility from Asia to Europe. Tony will help NES address the convergence of smart metering and smart grid solutions and provide solutions including software based energy applications that help utilities leverage their investments and manage this convergence.

“Tony is a great addition to the NES family, and we are privileged to have him on our team,” said Michael Anderson, NES Group president & CEO. “Tony comes with an exceptional leadership background and strong relationships in the European Region, and we are confident he will lead the European Region to achieve its strategy and growth objectives.”

“I am thrilled to be joining NES, a company that believes in great possibilities and thrives on real results”, said Tony Garcia. He added, “NES has established itself in the global smart grid market as a turnkey solution provider for proven, secure and multi-application solutions, and I look forward to making Europe one of NES’ largest markets by helping provide valuable solutions to our customers.”
