Networked Energy Services Expands Commitment to Latin America

Industry veterans recently joined NES to further expand its smart grid and smart metering customer base in LATAM.

San Jose, CA, January 26, 2021: Networked Energy Services Corporation (NES), a global smart grid solution provider with the industry’s leading Energy Applications Platform (EAPTM), is proud to announce its expansion and continued focus related to the smart metering market in Latin America (LATAM). NES has strategic alliances with several partners in the region, and is looking to leverage the experience of its new Sales Executives and expand NES’ partner network within the region.

NES plans to expand its smart grid and smart metering solutions in LATAM, where it already has several existing smart metering projects and pilots through its strong local and regional partners and alliances, including a multi-year smart metering deployment in Puerto Rico. The project in Puerto Rico utilizes the NES Patagonia Energy Applications Platform, which provides >99.8% daily availability of metering and other data. In addition, the solution offers advanced functionality including capabilities to securely collect essential data on billing and load profiles, identify and report on outages and restorations in near real time, provide critical power quality data about the distribution network, identify non-technical losses, incorporate distributed generation, and enable remote disconnection and reconnection of electricity service for customers.

“Latin America will see steady growth in smart grid investment, with spending picking up rapidly in the 2020s,” said Ben Gardner, President of the Northeast Group. “Latin American countries are deploying smart grid infrastructure for a variety of reasons including to address non-technical loss reduction, incorporate renewable energy, and employ demand response programs.”

"I am thrilled to welcome Sam Atassi and David Bimblich to the growing NES Sales Team in the region," said Artemy Voroshilov, Chief Sales Officer at NES. "Both are well-respected industry veterans with a combined 50 years of experience in the Energy and LATAM markets. Latin America is a market of key importance for NES, and adding their expertise in smart grid and smart metering solutions will further assist our customers. We look forward to benefiting from their experience, and rapidly expanding our presence in the growing smart grid market in Latin America."
